Excitement that Lasts

Writer: Brittany HollisBrittany Hollis

There is an excitement that comes with starting something new. Whether it is starting a new job, a new relationship, or moving to new city. In the Bible:

-Paul was excited to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentile world.

-Jesus was excited to reconcile man back to God through His death on the cross.

The thing about excitement is that it fades. Often times things are easy to start; but what happens when things don't go as planned?

How do you sustain your excitement when things don't go as planned? The answer is Jesus Christ! It comes from allowing God to renew your mind daily via His word ( Romans 12:1-2). When the newness wears off, allow God to renew:

-Your mind

-Your strength

-Your excitement

Paul, during his journey to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, faced adversities, setbacks, and physical harm. However, his excitement never subsided because Christ was the source of his excitement. Jesus experienced death threats, mockery, and abandonment on His journey to the cross, but His commitment to His purpose was the source of His excitement.

If you are going to have an excitement that lasts a lifetime, you have to have a godly centered, godly inspired purpose. God wants to do great things in and through you. As always, stay rooted in God!

Meditation Verse:

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;” Ephesians 4:23 (KJV)
