It's in the Word of God

Writer: Brittany HollisBrittany Hollis

Often times we search all over for the answers to life’s most important questions. For example, many people struggle to answer the following questions:

-What is my purpose in life?

-What are my spiritual gifts?

-How can I be successful in life?

The answer to these questions and all others are found in the Word of God. The Bible is the book that holds the answers to life’s most important questions. The psalmist said In Psalm 119:105 “your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. This means that God possess the answers to your questions. This verse specifically alludes to the wisdom and instructions found in the word of God. In fact, Psalm 119, which happens to be the longest chapter in the Bible points to the importance of staying rooted in the Word of God. People who stay anchored in the Word of God:

-Are more likely to make wise decisions.

-Avoid unnecessary pitfalls that comes from following God’s direction.

-Have the assurance of knowing that they are pleasing God.

-Have a sense of clarity and purpose.

So if you want to know your purpose, it can be found in the Word of God. The Bible says in Isaiah 43:10 “you are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I chosen, that you may know, and believe me and understand that I am he”. So your purpose is to be His witness on the earth. We are to let people know that God is real by the way we live our lives. If you want to know what your spiritual gift is, the Word of God outlines what the gifts of the Holy Spirit are and how they are dispersed in 1Corinthians 12. If you want to know the key to being successful, the Bible says in James 1:5 ESV " if you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him". This means that God will give you the blueprint for a successful life.

As you can see, the answers to life's most important questions can be found in the Word of God. So get in the Word and stay in the Word. The Word of God provides answers not only to the questions you have but the Word of God also provide answers to questions you did not even know you had. As always, stay rooted in God.

Verse of the week:

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119:11 ESV
