Disappointments are tough to overcome, even though we know that they will occur. Fear can be tough to overcome, even though as believers we have no reason to fear. Life presents us with several things that can make us stagnant or distract us from our purpose.
The book of Hebrews was written specifically to encourage believers to not depart from the faith.

There was persecution and adversity all around that could have easily caused them to question their faith. In Hebrews 12, the writer states "let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us". This simply means to get rid of the things that will cause you to depart from the faith. So what are some things that you need to get rid of:
-The doubt that keeps you from moving forward.
-The fear that keeps you paralyzed.
-The sin you enjoy so much that blocks God's favor on your life.
God has given each of us a specific race to run that will require endurance. Life is challenging enough without the additional weight of unnecessary fear, doubt, and the sin we too often carry. So the encouragement for today is to let go of anything:
-That keeps you in bondage
-That distracts you from your purpose
-That does not bring glory to God's name
As always, stay rooted in God by letting go of things that are not of God.
Verse of the week:
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us"
